Zavvi unveils Laputa: Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away Blu-ray Steelbooks

Written by A. H. on 07 Feb 2017

They arrive seemingly at random and often without too much fanfare, but we're rather fond of STUDIOCANAL's occasional re-releases of classic films from Studio Ghibli in a new Steelbook presentation.

Previous batches of releases saw NausicaaPonyo and My Neighbour Totoro released as DVD/Blu-ray combo pack Steelbooks, before Princess Mononoke and Kiki's Delivery Service got the standalone Blu-ray treatment.

Next in line for this level of sleek release are Laputa: Castle in the Sky and the Oscar-winning Spirited Away, both of which have now been lined up for an exclusive release via retailer and Steelbook specialist Zavvi according to their Twitter feed.

We don't have official release dates for these titles yet, although both releases currently appear to be set for a Monday, 13th March release. Before that Laputa: Castle in the Sky will go up for pre-order on Zavvi on 11th February 2017, with Spirited Away in the pre-order spotlight one week later on 18th February 2017.

Will you be picking up either of these Steelbooks? Let us know in the comments!
