Well, that sucks. I wonder if someone else will take up the reins and keep updating the application.

In the meantime, there's always modified Blu-ray players to work around the issue, or there is another similar piece of software available in the form of Passkey for Blu-ray.

I have a feeling if such convo topics occur at uka stock you'll find me back away slowly due to lack of contribution and go play outside like a child lol :p :)

Essentially, the software that allowed us to watch/rip any blu-ray from any region has shut down due to legal pressure. And there isn't really any alternative :(

As someone who paid the 70 odd quid for a lifetime subscription, I'm a tad pissed.

As a note of interest, the OPM database servers for AnyDVD HD are still up, but you'll need to add the relevant IPs for the key.slysoft.com domain to your local HOSTS file to access them.

To get the AACS decryption using the Slysoft Keys from up to the 22nd February, install the files on this website. Works on any region blurays quite nicely on my W10 PC.

Won't last for long, but they are still being updated it seems. Least it allows us to take screenshots and do legit playback.

Are anime discs coming with the full AACS encryption / going to BD+ and AACS2?

I was about to actually renew my license. Bought a non-lifetime one ages ago (I know, i know). So, this has kinda just saved some money.

Itll be interesting to see what discs work and what don't.

Apparently, KlK Blurays are a bit interesting. Vol 1 works, Vol 2 doesn't (According to Chaotico via FB)

You're best just saying all Anime Limited titles don't work with VLC to be honest

Tried about 5 and all failed (edit, barr the mentioned Vol.1 KlK)

Guess the PS4 is going to be moved up to Dedicated UK Bluray Player

I wonder if moving forward they'll use this experience to make their software more resilient - if the OPD gets taken offline the product quickly becomes less useful, and it really seems like there needs to be a way to mitigate against that.

P2P or other distribution of the database would be useful, but linking this into their licenses makes it difficult.

Issue I have is that I was looking to get a license working again, and now, how do you actually get one now. Or is it even worth it? Will RedFox get nuked just as quickly?

That is the risk with any software like this. I can only imagine they'll want to get "back to business" in every sense of the word (and they're planning to send out a mailshot to all customers once they're properly up and running), but there's no guarantee of how long that might last.

I'm just glad to have a little longer not having to start looking into alternatives for UKA's Blu-ray video capture solution!

Well considering it was legal reasons they shut down, I assume that by going into grey area territory and just ignoring it, they probably wont drop this anytime soon. They could always use a tor address for authentication if they wanted.

Looks like Redfox is going ahead full steam as it's now available to purchase... Anyone taken or thinking about taking the plunge?

Unfortunately not true. I can't find it right now as they've "cleaned" the forums, but they made a big thing of all the Slysoft stuff getting killed shortly after they sorted out purchasing.

So you'll need to buy a RedFox licence (or pirate) to keep using it.

Seems as though the keys expired on May 31st

What makes no sense as it works just fine for me

    -----

Considering I'm only using AnyDVD to play UK region disks, loosing it wont make a bit of difference to me other than my PS4 will be used a bit more
