Not a day goes by when I don't wish we had a western Blu-ray release of Hyouka...

Hyouka needs to happen, and I don't think the BD Box has English subs I'm sorry to say

    (Edit: Nope it doesn't)

yeah, the boxset doesn't have Eng subs. Hopefully this boxset raises the chances of seeing a western release in the future. Western distributors need to pull their chequebooks out already......

Does anyone else understand the hype behind the Queen's mentioning of Game of Thrones in her Christmas speech? All she said was that she had visited the set while passing through and was only mentioned because it had caused the most publicity for her earlier in the year - why wouldn't she mention it? I am a big GoT fan myself and I'm sure the Queen watches TV just like the rest of us.

Running a Christmas BBQ for 20 people in a one bed house, is hard ****ing work. Never have I drank so much and felt so sober.

15 kilos of meat, 20 kilos of charcoal, 30 pints of cider, 10 bottles of wine, 3 slabs of beer, and 5 hours of cards against humanity.

    Dead :D

Just wait for Sentai to pick it up. MVM will likely sublicense for the UK and you'll pay 30-40 a set instead of 250

^yep. I'm hoping this gets the same treatment that F/Z had, and MVM give us a more affordable edition. I was expecting them to do a release like this, but there's no way I'm paying Aniplex prices again. It's a business model that I can't support, both on principle and in practice!

So. General post asking for suggestions on what to do about something

For a few years now I've had varying amounts of depression what hasn't been a major issue for me, If I was pissed off at work I could just do some stuped things to relive my stress like carry things I probaly shouldn't.

Not really safe but it didn't harm anyone else.

Anyway. The issue now is, I work with forklifts. I don't need to say why that could be a problem. About 3 times in the past month I've "lost it" and I really DONT like the idea being near a FLT if I'm like that.

Doctors say there is nothing wrong with me. Lol. So any alt suggestions welcome

So, it sounds like you work in warehousing or distribution if you are a forklift user. Well, first thing that comes to mind is, have you considered a change? If you have your forklift ticket, it isn't actually that much farther to get your telehandler ticket or go for a plant operator. Doing either of those gets you out of a warehouse and possibly into construction.

Alternatively, change in career altogether? What are your non-anime interests an experience? If you have "episodes", then it is likely safer you look for office based work, or work where you aren't in control of a possible hazard that could kill. The fact you are aware of issues and could be seen to not be addessing them could trigger a criminal act under corporate manslaughter (Thinking of the Glasgow bin lorry by saying this, so no offence intended).

What is your depression trigger? I know mine tends to be lonliness, which I have actually only ever worked out by actually being properly alone. So what is yours? How do you manage it?

I address the issue by simply stopping what I'm doing (if its safe to ofc), getting off and going into the office for a while, I'm more than well aware that the manager can't force me to work if I feel for any reason its unsafe to continueband if he does then whats the worst than can happen? Get the building manager or HR involved?

As for what my trigger is, well I've had pretty continus depression for a few years because of almost total social isolation (I spent near a year where I spoke less in a day than I'm typing now) and I get tipped when people are doing literally nothing around the workplace, I'm in desperate need of help (I don't like carrying anything above 30-40kg on my own, or being put under pression when loading/unloading), but rather than help they go off talking out back or make a coffee, leaving me with customers, containers, vehicle waiting to be loaded. I just cant take it.

4 members of staff and I'm just left, look round and see them funking around

:breathes: need to stop winding myself up

Going on personal experience here, the first port of call is to talk to your GP about some form of specialist assessment, which should help pinpoint the cause of the problem and the best way to address it. A word of warning here: mental health provision in this country does exist, but sadly it's subjected to the same cutbacks and waiting lists as the rest of the health service so you could see a lengthy wait for an appointment.

In my case, the 'episode' had been building up over a considerable period of time and its root cause was work-related (from what you've written here, your situation sounds similar!). Now I've left my old job I feel much better, but it's led to me asking myself some difficult questions about where my career goes next. There's no 'one size fits all' solution either, because this sort of thing is very specific to your own situation. I do sympathise with you though, because I've been there!

There's a lot of conflicting info in regards to mental health matters - in addition to being chronically under-funded, it's also poorly researched, and advice and support is harder to find than if you were affected by, say, diabetes, heart disease or something similarly 'high-profile'. Some people are certainly more susceptible than others, and the triggers vary from individual to individual. I think of it like back trouble or allergies: it doesn't have to completely disable you, but certain environments and situations are problematic while others don't affect you at all.

Man can't believe it's been 2 years since I last used this forum, punish me senpai. Back at college again and I can already feel my soul leaving my body. I had a class I actually may like but I'm sharing it with only one other person and she seems like a bit of a lunatic
