After more than a decade in production, Alita: Battle Angel finally feels real as cinema ticket sales have gone live today for screenings on the 6th & 7th of February.
Based on the seminal science fiction manga Battle Angel Alita (or Gunnm as it was known in Japan) by Yukito Kishiro, Alita is directed by Robert Rodriguez from a script co-written by producer and long-time rights-holder James Cameron.
Alita herself is played by Rosa Salazar (the latter two Maze Runner films & Birdbox), with a supporting cast that includes Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Michelle Rodriguez, Jackie Earle Haley and Ed Skrein, among others.
Wargamer. Anime fan. Giant robot enthusiast. Congenietal absorber of science fiction & fantasy. Dawfydd is most definitely too old for this ****, but see's no point in stopping now. If only he could cut down on his use of the words 'dude' and 'groovy' in everyday conversation...
