It's always a bit of a treat to see anime on the big screen, especially when it's an old fan favourite that rarely appears in the cinema. In september next year the London Barbican will host a series of special cinema screenings for its Anime’s Human Machines season, which features a number of such classics. Kicking off with the live-action SF horror Tetsuo the Iron Man on the 12th, it showcases some animated feature films from the likes of Mamoru Oshii, Satoshi Kon and Mamoru Hosoda, among others.

The full listing, with dates and times of the screenings are:

Seats for each screening can be booked online at the Barbican’s official website via the links above, or by contacting the box office on 020 7638 8891. Although this event is many months away, tickets are already on sale and when they’re gone, they’re gone!
