Variety has reported that comic book writer Brian K. Vaughan (Y: THe Last Man) has been signed to write the live action Gundam movie in the works from Sunrise and Legendary Entertainment.

Vaughan, who's comic writing credits also include Runaways and Ex Machina, will not only write the script, but will also executive produce the film.

Deadline has reported that this deal forms part of a “three-year overall deal with Legendary, in which the studio would adapt several of Vaughan’s creator-owned comics, as well as produce exclusive, original projects developed by Vaughan for film and television across traditional and non-traditional platforms.”
