Live action Cowboy Bebop announced

Like Season 3 of Spice & Wolf or Half life 3, a live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop has been hinted, promised, and rumored more times than we can remember.

Now however Netflix has stepped in, fresh from their recent announcment of streaming Evangelion, to announce via twitter that they will be taking a stab at producing the classic series - however this time they have something no-one else has.

In a later twitter announcment they revealed that not only will original series creator Shinichirō Watanabe will be brought on as a consultant. No word however as to how much say he'll have, but they also revealed that Thor Ragnarock's Chris Yost has been brought on to write the first of a planned 10 episode series.

No news yet as to whether composer Yoko Kanno or the original series music creators The Seatbelts will be returning to score the soundtrack.
