Warner Brothers to release Gen:LOCK in October

Written by Ross Locksley on 12 Oct 2019

Warner Bros has announced via their publicity house, Fetch, that they will be releasing the star-studded mech series Gen:LOCK via digital, Blu Ray and DVD on October 28th.

From the Press Release:

Heralded by critics and fans alike, gen:LOCK – The Complete First Season takes place 50 years in the future as an oppressive authoritarian force threatens to conquer the world. A daring team is recruited to pilot a new form of weaponized neuroscience that powers devastating mech-giants – colossal weaponized robots – but they must be willing to sacrifice everything to save the planet.

The all-star cast is led by Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed), Dakota Fanning (The Alienist, War of the Worlds, Coraline), Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Kōichi Yamadera (Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop), Golshifteh Farahani (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, The Upside), Asia Kate Dillon (Billions, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum) and David Tennant (Doctor Who, Jessica Jones, Good Omens).

Created by Gray G. Haddock (Red vs. Blue, RWBY, RWBY Chibi), gen:LOCK is Rooster Teeth’s most liked, viewed and shared new series – the first season has garnered 44 million social media impressions to date. Debuting in January 2019, the inaugural series received laurels across the board, including praise from The New York Times (touted on the “Winter Watch List”), SyfyWire (featured among its top “Series To Watch”), and Inverse (“packed with fun, charming characters”). DC will release its first gen:LOCK comic later in 2019.

“gen:LOCK – The Complete First Season presents cutting-edge animation and imaginative storytelling that takes viewers on altogether new, futuristic adventures,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Vice President, Family & Animation Marketing. “gen:LOCK is the perfect example of enthralling faire to kick off the new partnership between Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Rooster Teeth.”

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with fellow WarnerMedia company Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on this release and future releases of Rooster Teeth home media,” said Matt Hullum, Rooster Teeth co-founder and CEO. “gen:LOCK – The Complete First Season is perfect for every fan of the series, with incredible behind-the-scenes content that takes you inside the world of gen:LOCK and Rooster Teeth.”
