Garden of Sinners is a bit of a hard series of films to get through - there's a lot of implied narrative and fuzzy logic, but there's no doubt that the central character, Shiki Ryougi, made a striking protagonist. While she's more generally known for her blue dress and red leather jacket, the kimino look is also iconic and that's what caught my eye when I was looking for something to pour my Christmas/Birthday money into. I got lucky too, because this is an older figure (Dec 2024) and it looks like I might have snagged the last copy at AmiAmi. The figure goes for bonkers money on Ebay, so I took a chance and picked the figure up.

The pose is both graceful and strong, Shiki wielding her katana above her palm, calm and ready to strike
The figure comes with a sword to hold which arrived in two separate parts - hilt and blade -which connect together once the item is in her hands. The details on the sword are gorgeous, making it a central focus of the figure - the wavy curve of the sharpened blade is a lovely touch, as is the brass base and the metal handguard. This element of realism in a fantasy figure creates a nice juxtaposition within the overall piece, making the sword feel very dangerous indeed.
The base makes a strong impression too, Shiki's bare foot making a splash in a rippling pink pond of water and sakura petals. This of course compliments the pale pink of her outfit, the only contrasts to which are the decorated blue Obi and the crimson red underlay that you can see at her neck, arms and feet. The printed patterns are all very sharp and blend perfectly.

The bow on Shiki's Obi showcases fantastic paintwork and decoration, with more subtle painted accents adding depth
One of the more charming aspects of the figure is the minimalist decoration throughout, with highlights painted in to accentuate the folds in the fabric which adds a wonderful level of depth. Speaking of folds, the overall sculpt-work is absolutely stellar throughout , every crease in the clothing is perfectly constructed and natural looking, with almost zero join lines across the figure.
The flesh-tones are also very nice - light-skinned with very subtle paintwork on hands and feet, allowing natural shadows to fill in the rest. It's clearly a premium figure despite the restraint shown in both the pose and the colours.
At 1/7 scale she's a sizeable figure - honestly a tad larger than I'm normally comfortable with due to shelf-space, but in this case it's actually not much of an issue. The vertical stance and lack of any overt sensual elements make this an easy item to display that anyone could enjoy without fear of judgemental relatives or visitors, so for that reason she'll join my figures in the main house instead of being a guilty pleasure restricted to the office alongside the Darkstalkers and other, bustier statues.
