Hi Everyone,
If you’ve been a dedicated listener to the UKA podcast for the last year, and why wouldn’t you be, you may have noticed a girl popping in now and again! That’s me, Bryony. Having been in a relationship with Ross (yes that grumpy old man) for over a year, it was somewhat inevitable that he would eventually draw me into the world of anime. Ross soon realised that occasional appearances on the podcast does not make the most of my numerous talents, and therefore he’s convinced me to officially join the team as the editor of the new ‘Toy Box’ section of the website, which will include board/card game and toy reviews.
My credentials in relation to this position include being champion of ‘Ultimate Settlers of Catan 2013’ (a competition between 11 players that took place at my sister’s house), having two grammar hot parents who ran their own publishing company and gaining much positive feedback for my numerous travel blogs.
They say that no man is an island, so it’s probably a good idea that I don’t go it alone, plus I do have a full time job! So, if you are a huge fan of figures, toys, models, board games or card games (with an anime theme primarily, but stretching to the fantasy/sci-fi genre too), you fancy yourself a budding writer and you’re interested in joining the ‘Toybox’ team as a contributor, then please get in touch (e-mail Bryony@uk-anime.net).
You may also want to have a listen to Ross, Seb and myself discussing the new section on last weeks podcast podcast and we have launched a forum topic for you to come along and talk about what’s in your ‘Toy Box’ (not a euphemism). I’m also hoping to be able to run a competition soon to celebrate the launch too, so watch this space!
As there is a lot in the media at the moment about the gender pay gap, Ross has agreed to pay me exactly the same as the other editors and contributors – diddly-squat!
Bryony
A life-long board game addict, but anime newbie, Bryony is gradually getting hooked!
