Following in the footsteps of other successful projects such as Kick-Heart and Little Witch Academia 2, yesterday saw a group known as Creative Intelligence Arts launch a campaign on Kickstarter to produce a single, 24-minute episode of animation under the title of Under the Dog.
The episode will be directed by Masahiro Ando (of Sword of the Stranger and CANAAN fame), with character and mechanical design provided by Yusuke Kozaki (responsible for designs in Fire Emblem: Awakening and other titles) and an original story by Jiro Ishii, who has provided stories for plenty of games including 428 and Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. Animation will be provided by Kinema Citrus, with 3D CG handled by Orange Co.
The episode's story is set in the year 2025, where a terrorist attack has led to the creation of an international school seeking to recuit gifted high-school students to seek out and destroy others with abilities like their own.
The Kickstarter campaign for Under the Dog is seeking to raise US $580,000 in thirty days, with a number of reward tiers including the provision of the finished project in late 2015 for $50, or the episode on DVD/Blu-Ray for $100.
You can find all of the details for this project on its relevant Kickstarter page.
