Streaming service to have show floor presence
Written by A. H. on 19 May 2016
Whenever we talk about the UK streaming market, be it on the podcast or elsewhere, one of our regular complaints is that streaming behemoth Crunchyroll have never made their presence felt at conventions and events here in the UK - a missed opportunity to advertise their offering and perhaps persuade viewers to move otherwise unknowing users away from less legitimate ways of viewing anime.
Thankfully, it seems like 2016 might change, as we now have confirmation that Crunchyroll will be at both this month's MCM London Comic Con, and also July's Hyper Japan Festival 2016.
Starting out with London Comic Con, it's been confirmed via Twitter that Crunchyroll will have a booth present on the show floor, including news, announcements and giveaways to attendees.
The service will have a similar presence at Hyper Japan 2016, promising the following:
We are so very happy to announce that for the first time ever, Crunchyroll will be coming in all its glory to HYPER JAPAN Festival 2016! Have a Crunchyroll membership? Then drop by the stand and enter a daily prize raffle! Oh you have a premium membership? Then you’ll also be eligible to win Crunchyboxes, a mystery box of anime goods inside! Premium members can also pick up anime posters and wristbands. Finally, Crunchyroll will have be live streaming the event so if you want to appear on the feed, drop by and say hello!
I think it's fair to say that all of us here at UK Anime welcome Crunchyroll's arrival on the UK convention and event scene, and we sincerely hope they'll keep on coming back!
