While we're waiting for the launch of FunimationNow in the UK, we're locked out of a whole slew of winter 2016 simucasts that they're offering.
However, if you don't mind waiting then help is at hand from DAISUKI, who are streaming a number of winter season shows to our territory that are currently unavailable to us elsewhere. Let's take a look at their offerings:
Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn - Studio Gokumi's take on a sci-fi manga collaboration between Masamune Shirow (yes, that Shirow) and Koushi Rikudou of Excel Saga fame follows a cyborg tasked with combating terrorists, and the meeting of two cybernetically enhanced girls as a result.
The series begins streaming on DAISUKI from Saturday, 16th January, with episodes airing each week at 1AM UK time.
DAGASHIKASHI - Feel take up the reins on this shounen comedy series about a boy named Kokonotsu who looks set to inherit a sweet shop, but instead dreams of becoming a manga author. Will the appearance of an oddball girl from a famous sweets company only make this situation more difficult?
The series starts its streaming run on DAISUKI from Wednesday, 20th January, with episodes airing weekly at 2AM UK time.
One series available on Crunchyroll that is also coming to DAISUKI consist of:
Haruchika - Haruta & Chika - P.A. Works take on adapting a series of mystery novels for the winter 2016 season in the form of Haruchika, an amalgam of Haruta and Chika, two high school students whose attempts to save the wind instrument club their members of are overtaken by an incident which they seem determined to resolve.
This series starts its DAISUKI run on Thursday, 14th January and airs weekly at 2AM UK time.
Prince of Stride: Alternative - The explosion of sports shows centred around male characters continues this winter, and this time around it's Madhouse who pick up the baton with an adaptation of otome visual novel for the PS Vita Prince of Stride here. The story centres on a new transfer student who finds herself becoming the manager of a club involved in extreme relay races, which of course is populated by some rather handsome and athletic fellows. But does she fancy running with them, or running after them?
The series begins airing on DAISUKI tomorrow, Wednesday 13th January, with episodes airing weekly at 3AM UK time.
You'll be able to find all of these shows on the DAISUKI web site and related apps.
