DAISUKI to stream Aikatsu! to Europe

More idol anime for the UK

Written by A. H. on 01 Sep 2014

Idol anime series have become hot property of late, and although Love Live is the series that has been on the lips of many both inside of Japan and out, there's another large idol franchise provided by Sunrise that is also proving to be hugely popular.

That franchise is Aikatsu!, and it's today been confirmed that the series will be streaming to the west - including the UK - courtesy of DAISUKI's streaming service. If you aren't familiar with the series, which originated as a colllectible card game from Bandai, here's the synopsis:

Ichigo Hoshimiya is an average first-year middle school student, but after her best friend Aoi encourages her to enter Starlight Academy, a famous idol-training school, Ichigo’s whole life changes. She meets various rivals, becomes proficient in abilities that are integral to idols, and uses Aikatsu cards while challenging herself with an array of auditions. The curtain has risen on newbie idol Ichigo’s cheerful, energetic idol activity!

The first thirteen episodes of the series will arrive at DAISUKI on September 4th at 7PM, with a further batch of episodes added every Friday through to episode fifty.

You can read the press release here, and the show will arrive on the DAISUKI web site this Friday!
