Durarara!! x2 Shou's UK home video release delayed until 30th May

Issue with case artwork causes delay

Written by A. H. on 17 Apr 2016

It was all set to be one of this month's big releases, but if you were looking forward to it then you'll have to sit on your hands for another month as Friday evening brought news of a last-minute delay to the UK release of Durarara!! x2 Shou from Anime Limited.

The delay comes thanks to a printing issue with the artwork on the release's rigid case, which was of an unacceptably low quality (and lower than the quality of the assets provided to the printer of said case), necessitating a reprint of this case to reach the desired quality.

Thus, both the DVD standard edition and Blu-ray Collector's Edition have been delayed to allow the necessary time for this case artwork to be corrected and reprinted, with both editions now tentatively slated for a 30th May 2016 release.

While this delay will doubtless be frustrating to Durarara fans, it does also show the value and importance of quality control checking at every stage of a home video release to prevent sub-standard releases reaching retail shelves - an especially important consideration when it comes to more expensive Collector's Edition releases.
