Eureka to release Fukasaku's The Fall of Ako Castle

Written by Richard Durrance on 28 Sep 2023

Eureka under their Masters of CInema banner have decided to give us an early Christmas present, with an HD release of Kinji Fukasaku's 1978 The Fall of Ako Castle.

Releasing on the 4th December, will give you plenty of time to sort out the mulled wine and mince pies to then settle down with Fuaksaku's telling of the 47 Ronin story, starring two legends of Japanese Cinema: Toshiro Mifune and Sonny Chiba.

Pre-orders are open directly on Eureka's site now.

And as with Samurai Reincarnation it looks like Eureka again have given us a lovely O-card.

About Richard Durrance

Long-time anime dilettante and general lover of cinema. Obsessive re-watcher of 'stuff'. Has issues with dubs. Will go off on tangents about other things that no one else cares about but is sadly passionate about. (Also, parentheses come as standard.) Looks curiously like Jo Shishido, hamster cheeks and all.
