Originally released for Plasytation, 2D 70's-inspired mecha shooter Geppy-X was a Japan only release that spanned 4 CD's and featured over 8,000 frames of hand-drawn animation. That's the sort of passion that deserves a wider audience!
The translation and Western release is being handled by studio Bliss Brain, and will feature the original cast and music that made the original so sincere.
Featuring 3 interchangeable forms, you take on the role of the three pilots of Geppy-X against the invading space demon army headed by Demon Lord Davin and his generals, the dashing Varg and spikey dominatrix Hisser.
Like all the best anime, the game evolves halfway through, updating the mecha to its XX form and increasing the team's firepower.
The game will include modern quality of life updates, such as save states and rewind. The game also features "after story" levels which take the narrative even further.
Geppy-X is slated for July 16th on all the platforms, so for fans of classic mecha action, this is one for the diary.
