Major British talent to head The Witch's Flower cast

Written by Ross Locksley on 02 Sep 2017

Studio Ponoc's The Witch's Flower will receive a brand new dub and be released via Altitude Films.

Kate Winslet (Titanic), Jim Broadbent (Game of Thrones, all British dramas) and Ruby Barnhill (The BFG) have been announced among the voice cast. No great surprise tha the cast is largely British, as the book on which the film is based was originally set in Shropshire.

Like When Marnie Was There, which was originally set in Norfolk, The Witch's Flower adapts a British classic novel called The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart.

On top of the stellar voice cast, the film also benefits from the talents of many ex-Studio Ghibli staff, including director Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who directed the aforementiond Marnie and Ghibli's own Arietty.

The film will open in 155 territories worldwide - dates are yet to be announced, but be assured UKA will be there to cover the film when it lands.
