Warner Bros. Japan has announced that Kazushi Hagiwara's Bastard!! will be receiving a new anime adaptation to be directed by Goblin Slayer's Takaharu Ozaki, with character designs by Sayakao Ono (Dragon, CROSS Ange Rondo of Angel).

Music duties will be carried out by Fairy Tail's Yasuharu Takanashi.

The series, which first saw publication in 1988 within the pages of Shonen Jump has an uneven history, with chapters being released haphazardly, and saw VIZ Media cease their English translation at volume 19 - the series has 27 volumes in Japan.

The series received a 6 episode OAV in 1992 and was released by Pioneer Entertainment in the US, though the UK never got to see it.

The new series will premiere worldwide on Netflix this year, an exact date has not been released.
