Company president passed away on Saturday

We woke to some profoundly sad information this morning, with news breaking that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has died from bile duct cancer, aged 55.
Having overseen the success of the Nintendo DS and Wii after becoming president in 2002, Iwata was well-known amongst gamers and beyond as a uniquely down-to-earth yet passionate presence who was always more than willing to communicate those strengths to the company's audience, and summed himself up best: "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer."
The thoughts of all us at the UK Anime Network go out to the friends and family of Mr. Iwata at this difficult time, and there's no doubt that his legacy will endure not just at Nintendo, but within the video game business and community as a whole.
