Playstation announce Play at Home initiative

2 free games to help you pass the time from Sony

Written by Ross Locksley on 15 Apr 2020

In response to the Covid-19 crisis, Sony has launched their "Play at Home" initiative, where anyone who owns a PS4 can download 2 free games from the Playstation Store.

The games on offer are The Uncharted Collection, containing three full-length AAA games featuring Nathan Drake as he trots around the globe collecting treasure and shooting up the place (in fairness these are some of my favourite Playstation games of recent years!) which have been meticulously remastered for PS4.

The second offering is Journey, a beautiful title that's as much as experience as it is a game, with some much needed life-affirming themes throughout.

You do not need to be a member of PS Plus to get these games, they are free to everyone so long a you redeem them from today until May 5th. The Uncharted Collection will not include the online components, likely a move to keep their online service stable as more people will be accessing it than ever before.

For indie developers, Sony have also put aside a $10 million fund, with details of how to claim coming soon.
