Visual novel localisation company Sekai Project have been very busy on the Kickstarter front as of late, and yesterday saw them launch their biggest project yet - to bring a fully voiced, English localised version of Key's well-known visual novel Clannad to the west.
Within twenty-four hours this project has already hit its $140,000 funding goal - funding tiers for the game include options for a physical or digital version of the game, as well as physical and digital copies of the game's soundtracks, a digital fanbook, a t-shirt, pennant and more besides!
In case you aren't familiar with Clannad (the anime adaptation of which was released in the UK by Manga Entertainment), here's the story synopsis:
After losing his mother in a car accident and subsequently falling victim to an abusive, alcoholic father, Tomoya Okazaki is an emotionally-distant delinquent student at Hikarizaka Private High School. On his way to school, he meets a strange young girl, Nagisa Furukawa, who is repeating the year due to a severe illness. From their brief encounter, she decides that they are friends and enlists his help in order to revive their school’s drama club. With not much more to do, he cooperates with her, making friends with many of the students and learning about the different problems that they face...
