It's garnered no end of critical discussion and plenty of acclaim, but it's still worth noting that Studio Ghibli's latest movie - and the final feature film to be directed by Hayao Miyazaki - has received an Oscar nomination for its efforts.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have today announced all of the Oscar nominees, with The Wind Rises garnering a nomination in the Animated Feature Film category, where it will face off against four other films including Frozen and Despicable Me 2.
The film is yet to be screened in the UK, but is scheduled to appear at the Glasgow Youth Film Festival on February 9th.
