Spring will bring flowers... and WAR!

Perhaps one of the unsung heroes of the previous console generation is preparing for it's PS4 Remaster. If you never played Valkyria Chronicles in it's original PS3 iteration, you've been missing an absolute RPG classic. Famed for it's innovative and unique BLiTZ tactical battle system, anime stylings of the CANVAS graphics engine and heart rending story to boot, Valkyria has built a firm fanbase and has been something of a sleeper hit for it's publisher Sega.
This spring, this breath of fresh air will see a fantastic 60 FPS release in full HD. Pretty much one of the prerequisties of the re-releases of the previous generations, but one that we have come to appreciate. If that wasn't enough, possibly one of the most compelling of the great reasons to pick up the remaster, even if you previously played the game are for the included DLC. The EX Hard mode, Edy's mission (moe-tastic), Selvaria's Mission (oppai-tastic) and the Challenge of Edy Detachment, there is a good chunk of additional content in addition to the main game.
Valkyria Chronicles Remastered will be available as both a digital and physical release, with the US release seeing a rather nice Squad 7 Armored Case, which is a rather nice limited steelbook, so if these things matter to you, be sure to preorder on import as it is not (boo!) currently available to the European region, though the latest press release from Sega does state "European exclusive physical version of which more details will be coming very soon", so there may well yet be more details of a European limited edition to come.
Look for this box coming this Spring to your local game retailer!
With any luck, this HD remaster will be the catalyst for a HD re-release of the Valkyria Chronicles 2 (with Japanese audio this time!) and for that rarest of beasts, the unlreleased Japanese only Valkyria Chronicles 3. God knows fans have been dying for it!
