Voice actor Chris Ayres has sadly passed away at the age of 56. Known for his work as Frieza on the beloved Dragon Ball series, he featured in the English dubs for Dragon Ball Z Kai, Dragon Ball Super and the films Dragon Ball Ressurection F and Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

He was also a stage actor, ADR Director, scriptwriter and fight choreographer.

While a cause of death has not been given, he was diagnosed in 2017 with end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease requiring a double lung transplant.

Chris' partner, Krystal LaPorte made the announcement on twitter:

Chris loved you all. How much he loved other people filled the vast majority of our conversations. To those of you who loved him back, thank you.

I know a lot of people are reading this will ask, ‘Is there anything I can do?’ Please be more like Chris. Please, if you learned anything from him, put it in this world. Please fill it with love and laughter, always.

Our condolences to his friends and family.
