New distributor begins process of closing down

You might remember that back in late April, we reported on our investigation into a new company seeking to license and acquire anime for a UK release named AniDesu Entertainment, chronicling their early travails and efforts and raising some questions as to their ability to function within this marketplace.
Now, several months on and after the appointment of another director to the company early last month, we can confirm that AniDesu Entertainment have applied to be struck off the Companies House register and ultimately dissolved, meaning that the business is no longer in operation.
To clarify, government documents note that a company can apply to be struck from the register in the following circumstances:
A company may apply to the registrar to be struck off the register and dissolved. The company can do this if it is no longer needed. For example, the directors may wish to retire and there is no one to take over from them; or it is a subsidiary whose name is no longer needed; or it was set up to exploit an idea that turned out not to be feasible. Some companies who are dormant or non trading choose to apply for strike off.
It's also recommended that any bank accounts pertaining to the company and web site domains in the businesses position are closed or handed over before applying for this process, meaning that the company has ceased trading entirely.
Thus, it seems we can now draw a line under AniDesu Entertainment, with no licenses to their name and no products release - indeed, we confirmed not long after our article in April that the title that the company were in the "final stages" of acquiring from Bandai Visual was never licensed by the company and now resides elsewhere. Here is a story that serves as a cautionary tale that entering the anime license business is a complex and nuanced beast that requires more than just passion and hard work.
