Bubblegum Crisis Blu-Ray Kickstarter reaches stretch goal

Bubblegum Crisis Blu-Ray Kickstarter reaches stretch goal

Campaign closes November 25th

Written by A. H. on 22 Nov 2013

We reported back in late October about the commencement of a Kickstarter project run by Animeigo to bring Bubblegum Crisis to the west on Blu-Ray, and now with a few days still left to run the campaign has reached its stretch goal.

As a result, backers will be offered a chance to vote on whether the originally planned two BD50 disc set should be expanded to make use of three BD50 discs, allowing for more content to be added to the release or for higher bit-rate video to be used.

As it stands, the release will contain the following:

- Bubblegum Crisis (with both Japanese and English soundtracks, and optional subtitles in English and French), all the Hurricane Live animated music videos, and the Holiday in Bali live-action video on 2 (or 3) region-free BD50 Blu-Ray discs.

- A downloadable Omake (Extras) Archive that will contain all the static bonus materials we have, including program notes, song lyrics, translated interviews with the original creators, and high-resolution color artwork and line-art (settei). Our current plan is to provide this in both HTML and PDF formats, so you can refer to it on a tablet while watching the videos.

- 5 Postcards from MegaTokyo and a custom Commemorative Challenge Coin that you will help design.

With a little under three days still to run, you can back this campaign from the relevant Kickstarter page.
