First season of series due to arrive on Netflix in April

For fans of Studio Trigger's Little Witch Academia, it's a long, painful wait for the first half of the franchise's TV series to arrive on Netflix, where we expect the first batch of episodes to arrive in April in lieu of the streaming service simulcasting the show weekly in the west.
Thanks to the series getting an English subtitle treatment however, that does mean that these subtitles will also be making their way on to the Japanese DVD and Blu-ray releases of the show, so if don't mind paying Japanese home video prices then it offers you another vector to enjoy the series.
There's no word on any western acquisition of the series beyond Netflix's holding the show's streaming rights (which will likely mean a lengthy western home video holdback in turn), but we'd like to think that somebody will snap the series up at some point in the future.
Word of the availability of English subtitles on the Japanese home video release comes direct from the official Little Witch Academia Twitter account. The first volume of the series - featuring the first three episodes - is available for pre-order now from online Japanese retailers, and is due for release on 19th April 2017.
