Netflix have updated their "New and Popular" section of their website with two interesting titles to air in June.
First up, we have the fascinating live-action feature for Cells at Work on June 13th, based on the 2015 manga by Akane Shimizu. Based on the cells of the human body and there everyday adventures, it's very reminiscent of french cartoon Once Upon a Time... Life.
Next up, both seasons of MASHLE: Magic and Muscles will have both seasons available from June 9th.
Trailers & Synopses:
Cells at Work (June 13th)
The smallest protagonist in film history: a human cell!
There are a staggering 37 trillion cells in the human body. Red blood cells that carry oxygen, white blood cells that fight bacteria, and countless other cells work tirelessly day and night to protect your health and life.
High school student Niko lives with her father, Shigeru. Because of Niko's diligent nature and her healthy lifestyle, the cells inside her body are always working joyfully. Meanwhile, inside Shigeru's body, the cells are always complaining, exhausted from the brutal working environment, as he leads an irregular and unhealthy life. On the outside they may look like a happy father and daughter, but on the inside their bodily environments couldn't be more different. As their lively days go on, pathogens start to sneak up on their bodies... The most epic battle in the history of human cells, with the future of Niko and Shigeru at stake, is about to begin!
MASHLE: Magic and Muscles (June 9th)
This is a world of magic.
This is a world in which magic is casually used by everyone.
In a deep, dark forest in this world of magic, there is a boy who is singlemindedly working out.
His name is Mash Burnedead, and he has a secret. He can’t use magic.
All he wanted was to live a quiet life with his family, but people suddenly start trying to kill him one day and he somehow finds himself enrolled in Magic School. There, he sets his sights on becoming a “Divine Visionary,” the elite of the elite.
Will his ripped muscles work against the best and brightest of the wizarding world?
The curtain rises on this off-kilter magical fantasy in which the power of being jacked crushes any spell!
