The end is finally here and thank God! Ever since the end of the previous volume (and indeed volume 4) I have been waiting for the big conclusion and the big fights which are inevitable in any series of this type - and oh boy, are they good!

Needless to say the fight between the Mainland and the altar users of the Lost Ground comes to its climax here with Ryuhou and Kazuma leading the fight ensuring the independence of the Lost Ground from their would be invaders.

The series does end on an expected note but it put a nice wide smile on my face. Enough said.

Since I have already said what I wanted on the actual production of the series throughout my reviews, I will instead summarise the series and give an overall final opinion on the end product.

Summary of S-Cry-Ed
S-cry-ed has turned into a story about the struggle of the inhabitants of the Lost Ground and their often sudden and bitter victories over their invaders. In the end, freedom is gained from the invading forces thanks to the struggle of the ex-HOLY and the native altar users.

In general, this has turned into quite an unexpectedly thoughtful series. From the initial episodes I wasn't expecting such a deep storyline, sine these early volumes simply set the scene and introduce the characters. The storyline doesn't really kick in until late in volume 2 where the Mainland representative, a squirrelly hateful little bloke, appears at the HOLY headquarters. Little did I expect this man to single handedly take on the native altar users and in some cases, win against their abilities! The feel of the entire series is of a fighting anime and I am quite impressed on how it evolves as the series progresses.

It may not be post apocalyptic, but S-Cry-ed certainly fits into my narrow band of absolute love.

The series has scored consistent high marks throughout my reviewing. The main downsides that have cropped up come from the predictability of the series. Although the majority of the plot twists can be seen a mile off, the fights become repetitive and predictable after a while. This, however, certainly didn't affect my enjoyment at all.

Overall, the series scores a good 8/10 in my books and the score given below only reflects the rating for this volume.

I will recommend S-cry-ed to people I know as a good, quick thrill. One for those who like good old fashioned violence.

Excellent end to a superior series.
