Anime Limited Manchester MCM Comic Con 2015 news round-up

Written by A. H. on 25 Jul 2015

It's Manchester Comic Con weekend, and of course that means news and license announcements from some of the major anime distributors.

First up for the day is Anime Limited, who yesterday announced their acquisition of Ping Pong the Animation - more news on that over here.

Beyond that, the distributor announced a partnership with studio Sunrise to bring the Gundam franchise to the UK, starting with the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV series. This 43 episode show will be released across two sets on Blu-ray, complete with English and Japanese audio and English subtitles - the first half of the series is currently scheduled for Q4 2015. Expect more Gundam news and perhaps even events at MCM London Comic Con in 2015.

Next up is Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, which is scheduled to be released as a DVD Complete Series Collection in November 2015, containing English and Japanese audio with English subtitles. Anime Limited are currently looking into seeing if they can add anything special to the release beyond the series itself.

Finally, confirmation was made that Anime Limited have acquired Blood Blockade Battlefront for the UK - no further details on that presently, but you can watch all of the series currently available on Viewster of course.

The distributor also outlined their currently expected line-up for the fourth quarter of the year, which is as follows:

October 2015: Ping Pong the Animation, Sword Art Online II Part 2, Mobile Suit Gundam Part 1.

November 2015: Beck, Mobile Suit Gundam Part 2, Samurai Flamenco Part 1 (which will be subtitle-only, Blu-ray only) and Fuse.

December 2015: Gundam Reconguista in G (which will be subtitle-only), Gankutsuo: The Count of Monte Cristo (which will receive a steel box presentation), Sword Art Online II Part 3, A Letter to Momo and all of Full Metal Panic.
