Anime Limited confirm theatrical and home video release of Giovanni's Island

Written by A. H. on 04 Sep 2014

Having already confirmed screenings at Scotland Loves Anime and the BFI London Film Festival, we'll clearly be seeing a lot of Production I.G's Giovanni's Island this year.

The reason for this has now been confirmed, with distributor Anime Limited raising their hand and 'fessing up to the ownership of both theatrical and home video rights to the film.

Thus, a round of theatrical screenings in the autumn will be followed by a home video release - we're expecting to see an Ultimate Edition Blu-ray and DVD combo pack arrive in the winter, comprising of just 1,000 copies and with a number of on-disc extras, all accompanied by a 76-page softback book.

This will be followed by Standard Edition DVD and Blu-ray releases in late January 2015, containing simply the film and extras.

You can find full details on the UK release of Giovanni's Island via its official web site.
