Anime Limited confirm updated release schedule

Written by A. H. on 20 Jan 2016

The sheer number of delays to UK anime releases across all of our distributors has become something of a running joke amongst fans these days, and today brings us a whole slew of date changes courtesy of the latest Anime Limited Newswire - complete with a vow to change things to try and minimise the number of delays and schedule changes to their line-up:

"So yeah, a lot of you are probably wondering: how solid are these dates? What are the next round of delays going to be like? As painful as that is to type, we get it. Which is why we’ve had a very long, very involved meeting about times – instigating super conservative, worst-case-scenario dates and putting them down. It’s the best we can do on this – things happen, delays on approvals happen, delays in changes and problems in production at the various stages of development happen (possible subject of future podcast maybe?) so based on the past couple years’ experience, we’re throwing away our optimism and going with super cautious until we got this down solid. So unless really exceptional circumstances happen (and they do happen! I’ve got horror stories aplenty) we’re doing everything we feasibly can to get dates right from the start."

The balancing act between giving accurate dates and getting products out to consumers is undoubtedly a tricky one - a nightmarish one, even - so we'll be keen to see how these procedural changes affect future releases, potential delays and the public perception of them.

Anyhow, with that said here is that round of Anime Limited release date changes in full:

Tokyo ESP has moved from its original release date of February 29th to a new berth of 28th March.

- A Letter to Momo moves from 22nd February to 11th April.

Selector Infected WIXOSS shifts from February 29th to 11th April.

Lord Marksman and Vanadis follows suit, also moving from February 29th to 11th April.

Durarara!! x2 - The First Arc moves from February 15th to 25th April.

- Expelled From Paradise now has a new release date, set for 9th May.

- Psychic School Wars also moves off the TBC list to a new 9th May date.

Riddle Story of Devil moves from 14th March to a new berth of 27th June.

Brothers Conflict makes the same move, from 14th March to 27th June.

- Finally, Gundam: Reconguista in G - Part 1 is no longer simply TBC, and is also due for release on 27th June.
