Discotek Media license Midnight Eye Goku for North America

Written by A. H. on 18 Jan 2017

Discotek Media have carved out an impressive niche for themselves when it comes to releasing older anime (sprinkled with the occasional newer title) in English for the North American market, and that shows no signs of abating in 2017 with plenty more on the way.

Yesterday saw the distributor confirm another new old acquisition, with news that they'll be releasing the Midnight Eye Goku OVA on DVD in May of June of this year. The release will feature both English and Japanese audio with English subtitles.

This two episode OVA from Madhouse was originally released in Japan in 1989 - based on a manga series, this cyberpunk detective story tells the tale of a man with a cybernetic eye who can use it to control computer systems across the globe.

You can find the announcement for yourself on the Discotek Media Facebook page.
