Future Diary confirmed for UK home video release from Kaze

First half of series coming in Q4 2015

Written by A. H. on 28 Jun 2015

Remember the October 2012 MCM London Comic Con? Probably not, but it was in that dim and distant past that we first heard confirmation that Asread's anime adaptation of popular manga series Mirai Nikki, aka Future Diary, would be getting a UK home video release from Kazé, probably some time in 2013.

2013 passed. 2014 passed. As recently as this May we were told that there was "no word" of a Future Diary release.

Then, suddenly, a shaft of light breaks through, seeping into the darkness of uncertainty. With the light comes hope. With hope comes an official announcement that Future Diary is, indeed, coming to the UK at last.

The confirmation comes courtesy of Animatsu Entertainment's Andrew Hewson, who spills the beans in an interview with Japancuriosity, confirming Kaze's intentions to release the series on our shores. More specifically, the series will be released across two half-season sets, the first of which is currently scheduled for the final quarter of the year. The series will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray (the significant Blu-ray holdback on the series from the Japanese licensor likely contributing to the long delay in this UK release).

So, there you have it, at last we know the future, and that Future Diary has a part within it. Are you looking forward to this release? Let us know in the comments!
