With the first instalment of Viceland's new anime programming block airing overnight and bringing Cowboy Bebop back to UK television for Sky subscribers, today brings us more news of anime on UK TV, albeit with a decidedly different bent.
This time around, the programming is very much aimed at kids, and more specifically kids in the London area, as Freeview channel London Live has unveiled a new programming block for children named Bounce.
Of particular note for anime fans is that the channel has teamed up with Saban Brands to provide content for this programming block - most notably Glitter Force (the company's English localisation of Smile! PreCure) which was formerly available on Netflix comes to the channel, while Digimon also comes to the block alongside the likes of Power Rangers.
The block will officially launch on Saturday, 22nd July 2017, with plans afoot to release a Bounce app in 2018 to make content available via smart devices.
As noted, London Live is only available in the London area, via the following services:
FreeView channel 8
Sky channel 117
VirginMedia channel 159
YouView channel 8
You can find out more about the channel on the official web site, while Licensing.biz has more news on Bounce.
