Issues with Re:Zero Blu Ray reported

Written by Seb Reid on 25 Jun 2018

UPDATE

According to a quote obtained by ANN from Anime Ltd owner Andrew Partridge:

He noted that, while the problem is "disappointing," it does not fit "the common vernacular definition of defective" in order for Anime Limited to replace the discs.

ORIGINAL STORY

Thanks to UKA reader Marco Morelissen for bringing this to our attention. According to some users and Anime News Network in particular, issues are being reported with the Funimation discs used for Anime Ltd's release of Re:Zero.

Youtube user Holy994 has uploaded an example video showing the issues.

There is also a conversation about the issue on Reddit if you want to jump in.

This is not the first time their have been issues with releases - Gurren Lagann Ultimate Edition had issues with both the packaging and disc content, Your Name had issues with both video and audio, as did Durarara!! both of which had disc replacement schemes offered.

Time will tell if Re:Zero will also have to be re-issued.
