MVM Entertainment acquire Oreimo for UK release

Written by A. H. on 27 Oct 2015

You thought that the end of MCM London Comic Con weekend meant that all of the new UK license announcements were over, didn't you? Didn't you?! Well, they are in a sense, but that doesn't mean we can't keep digging...

It's been noted today that online retailer Anime On-Line has updated their pre-order listings, and it's brought with it one particularly interesting addition: News that both seasons of Oreimo (aka Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai or My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute) will be coming to the UK on DVD in 2016, courtesy of distributor MVM Entertainment.

This romantic comedy story of a boy and his little sister whose outward perfection hides a love of anime and eroge is currently slated for its first series to arrive on DVD on January 25th 2016, with season two landing just a week later on February 1st 2016.

Other revelations from this distributor include news that the first season of the previously announced Hidamari Sketch will arrive on both DVD and Blu-ray on January 4th 2016, while Kämpfer has both a DVD Collector's Edition and Blu-ray release listed for March 6th 2016.

Offsetting this good news is a group of delays - and yes, that does include No Game No Life. Again. That release has now been shifted from December 12th 2015 to January 11th for its Collector's Edition release and February 29th 2016 for its standard editions - we just hope it is actually a leap year next year...

Also delayed are both halves of Maid-sama's DVD release, which move from 16th of November and 7th of December to new dates of December 7th 2015 and January 18th 2016 respectively, while Infinite Stratos 2 slips again from 9th November to 14th December 2015 and So I Can't Play H also moves from 9th November to a new berth of 7th December 2015.

As always, our fully up-to-date release calendar can be found right here on the site.
