Who has the readers with the best eyesight in the UK anime industry? Ours, if this little snippet of speculation is anything to go by.
Today has seen North American distributor NIS America unveil their latest forthcoming Premium Edition for the UK market, that being their release of P.A. Works' wonderful original series A Lull in the Sea (or Nagi-Asu aka Nagi no Asukara as it's also known).
This three-disc, Blu-ray Premium Edition contains not only the entire 26 episode series spread across three BDs (with both English and Japanese audio), but also features the company's traditional hard cover art book, as well as the show's two soundtrack CDs as part of its package.
Now, this is where things get interesting, and one of our forum members Morgs noted via Twitter that the exploded pack shot of these two soundtrack CDs on the RightStuf web site clearly have logos from UK distributor MVM Entertainment printed upon them, while the Blu-rays themselves are labelled as both Region A and B compatible albeit with no distributor branding upon them aside from NISA's own logo. Don't believe us? Click the image in the headline to see the full size pack shot and hunt down that logo for yourself.
So the speculation begins... are MVM Entertainment simply assisting with the production of these CDs? Are they in fact looking to co-author a UK release of the entire series for a UK premium release with soundtracks included? Is the inclusion of the MVM Entertainment logo simply a mistake?
So many questions, but all of a sudden we find ourselves looking forward to the prospect of a potential British release for a recent favourite here in the UK Anime office (as evidenced by our reviews of the series). Fingers crossed our speculation proves correct...
