New Releases - October 27th 2014

Written by A. H. on 27 Oct 2014

We haven't even had time to recover from the MCM London Comic Con, and yet we're already looking at a huge plethora of new releases today with plenty more to come before the year is out. Let's not get ahead of ourselves however, and see what this Monday brings.

Let's kick things off with Manga Entertainment, and Attack on Titan Part 2, which looms over the release schedule on both DVD and Blu-ray today. We have our retail copy of this release just begging to be watched for a review as soon as we can.

Meanwhile, today also sees the release of The Devil is a Part-Timer! as a complete series collection on both DVD and Blu-ray, the former of which has been reviewed by ourselves right here.

Meanwhile, Anime Limited have a big release today in the form of HAL, which arrives as a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack Collector's Edition. We don't have a review disc of this release at the time of writing, but we'll see what we can do to get some coverage on the site! For now though, you can read our take on a theatrical screening of the film over here.

On to MVM Entertainment next, and we have From the New World - Part 2 arrive on Blu-ray to supplement its earlier DVD release, our review of which is right here.

Meanwhile, the Bakemonogatari Complete Series Collection is now available on DVD, with a slightly delayed Blu-ray release to follow on November 24th - why not read our reviews of part one and part two of that series?

Last but not least from MVM Entertainment, the Kokoro Connect OVA Collection makes its DVD-only appearance today; our review of the release can be found over here.

Finally on the anime side of things, we have Sony Pictures Entertainment, who will be releasing Appleseed Alpha on DVD and Blu-ray (our review of which is right here), as well as the Marvel Anime Boxset on DVD, which contains Mad House's Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher, Iron Man, Wolverine and X-Men series.

After all of that, thankfully things seem a little quieter in the world of manga, with the adaptation of The Garden of Words and volume two of Attack on Titan: No Regrets our only newcomers.

Looking forward to next week, we'll see the first volume of Kill la Kill hit retail (although buyer beware, a disc replacement programme is already being arranged to resolve English audio sync issues on the release), the third One Piece Movie Collection arrive, and Samurai Champloo slice its way into the UK on Blu-ray. Until then, take care!
