Sekai Project launch Nekopara OVA Kickstarter campaign; funded within one hour

From its starting point as a simple visual novel about humanoid cats and their relationship with their owner, Nekopara has grown into something of a cult hit, with its burgeoning visual novel series proving to be increasingly popular.

With that in mind, localisation company and distributor Sekai Project have sought to take the project to the next level by funding a Nekopara OVA based around the storyline of the first visual novel, and to do so the publisher has taken to crowd-funding service Kickstarter to do so.

With an hour of opening, the campaign had already hit its $100,000 goal to successfully fund a 20 minute OVA, and is currently close to raising $350,000 at the time of writing. Each additional $100,000 dollars will add another ten minutes to the length of the OVA, up to a maximum of an hour long work if the highest goal of $500,000 is reached.

Needless to say, there are plenty of reward tiers available to backers, with the campaign still running all the way through to Saturday, February 11th 2017.

To read more or back the campaign for yourself, you can head on over to the Nekopara OVA Kickstarter campaign page.
