Hot on the heels of yesterday's announcement of Franken Fran, last night saw Seven Seas Entertainment announce another new addition to their 2016 line-up of English language manga releases.

This latest announcement is Not Lives, the story of an eccentric boy who somehow gets transported into a life or death virtual survival game - and what's more he's been turned into a girl in the process.

The first volume of the series is currently set for a March 29th 2016 release in North America. Here's the full press release for your perusal:

Seven Seas Entertainment is thrilled to announce their acquisition of Wataru Karasuma’s virtual gender-bender manga series, Not Lives.

High school student Mikami has always been an eccentric oddball who doesn’t quite fit in. He doesn’t mind though, as he has other passions that consume him. Little do his classmates know, Mikami moonlights as a game designer extraordinaire. His current mission is simple: create the ultimate romance game!

But when Mikami tries to play a strange game that mysteriously appears among his research material, things take a bizarre turn as he’s suddenly thrust into a survival game and transformed into a girl! And complicating things even further, if Mikami loses inside the game, it’s not only his female avatar that’s on the line, but his very own life! Will Mikami survive this new adventure, or is he too excited to care?

“No Game, No Life was a huge hit for us, and fans have been eager for something else like it,” said Seven Seas publisher Jason DeAngelis. “Not Lives has all the fun and references of other virtual reality stories, but also with a gender-bending twist. The art is great, and Mikami’s enthusiasm for games is infectious. It’s really entertaining.”

Seven Seas will release the new and on-going Not Lives for the first time in print in North America as single volume releases, all with color inserts. Volume one will be released on March 29, 2016 for $12.99 US / $14.99 CAN.
