The Osamu Tezuka Story to receive English translated release

Written by A. H. on 20 Oct 2015

You don't have to be an expert in the field to know the influence that Osamu Tezuka exerted upon the world of manga and anime, but if you are keen to know more about the "God of manga" then you may well be interested in this mammoth release announced by Stone Bridge Press for a July 2016 release.

The publisher has revealed that they will be releasing a fully English translated edition of The Osamu Tezuka Story: A Life in Manga and Anime, a manga-style work that covers the entire life of Tezuka across over 900 pages.

Here's the press blurb for the release:

We are proud to announce that next July we will be publishing The Osamu Tezuka Story: A Life in Manga and Anime, a huge (900+ pages) single-volume manga style work that covers the entire life of Japan’s most beloved artist/comics/animation visionary.

Not only will readers get to see how Tezuka got his start and first successes, but they will follow him all the way through his amazing career, and in so doing will see how manga and anime developed from almost nothing in a devastated postwar Japan to the enormous commercial juggernauts they have become today. The story of Tezuka is truly the story of comics and animation media in Japan.

You can read more about the book and find pre-order links on the Stone Bridge Press web site.
