Yen Press and Kodansha Comics announce a multitude of new licenses

Lots of news from Sakura-con and Anime Boston

Yesterday was a busy one for new manga license announcements, with Yen Press all but spraying licenses upon an enthusiastic crowd at Sakura-con in Seattle, while Kodansha Comics had plenty to show off during their panel at Anime Boston. So, let's see what the two of them had to show off.

Let's begin with Kodansha Comics USA, who unveiled the following licenses:

Ninja Slayer Kills - Not to be confused with the Machine of Vengeance subtitled manga licensed by Vertical Comics, this other Ninja Slayer manga has been picked up for a western release.

- Cat Diary: Yon & Mu - From Gyo author Junji Ito, this series tells the story of a horror writer and his fiance's cats. No, really.

- Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - Based on the Nintendo 3DS video game, both the "P3" and "P4" sides of this manga will be coming to print, following their digital release on Crunchyroll's manga service.

- Devil Survivor - Another video game adaptation, based on this Shin Megami Tensei title.

Also confirmed by the publisher is that the sixth and seventh omnibus editions of Vinland Saga will arrive in September and December respectively, while Attack on Titan's sixteenth volume will get a special edition release with an additional dust jacket and unique colour art.

Now, over to Seattle, and Yen Press' massive slate of new licenses from Sakura-con:

Yowamushi Pedal - This cycling sports manga will be released in two-volume omnibus editions.

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun - This romantic comedy revolving around a manga artists enjoyed a hugely popular anime adaptation, and will be coming to the west in its original form at an unspecified future date.

- Sakura no Himegoto - This shoujo romance series featuring an unusual master-pet relationship will be coming our way in the future.

Dragon's Rioting - What happens if a boy who will die if he gets too sexually aroused ends up in an all-girls school? Read this manga to find out!

Aldnoah Zero Season One - The manga adaptation of this mecha anime series has also been snapped up for an English language release.

- Handa-kun - This spin-off of the Barakamon manga series (also available through Yen Press) will be getting a digital release by the publisher.

Today's Kerberos - This supernatural harem comedy is also slated for a digital release.

- Shut-In Shoutarou Kominami Takes on the World - Another digital title from Yen Press will be this three volume series.

- Servant x Service - This comedy revolving around a group of civil servants is another forthcoming digital title.

- Unknown - Hard to Google supernatural fantasy-action series from Tsumuji Yoshimura is another slated digital release.

- When A Magician's Pupil Smiles - Add this supernatural series to the digital-only slate of announcements.

The Royal Tutor - A digital release awaits this historical comedy series.

- Scarlet Empire - Historical fantasy series Scarlet Empire rounds out Yen Press' slate of digital announcements.
