Picturehouse Cinemas launch Studio Ghibli Forever season

Written by A. H. on 20 Apr 2016

We're still a couple of months away from what might be Studio Ghibli's final feature length film, When Marnie Was There, reaching UK cinemas (that arrives on the 10th of June), but to fill that space and build up to and reach beyond its theatrical release Picturehouse Cinemas are launching a season of screenings of previous Ghibli films across their chain.

The screenings commence next Friday, 29th April and run all the way through until the end of July - the screening schedule looks as follows:

From 29th April: Nausicaä Of The Valley Of The Wind
From 6th May: Laputa: Castle in the Sky
From 13th May: My Neighbour Totoro
From 20th May: Grave of the Fireflies
From 27th May: Kiki's Delivery Service
From 3rd June: Only Yesterday
From 17th June: Princess Mononoke
From 24th June: Spirited Away
From 1st July: Howl's Moving Castle
From 8th July: Ponyo
From 15th July: The Wind Rises
From 22nd July: The Tale of the Princess Kaguya

For more details on locations, exact dates and times for these screenings, you can find everything you need on the Picturehouse Cinemas Blog.

EDIT: It's been pointed out in our forum that these screenings are part of a wider Studio Ghibli Forever season running across various cinemas - you can find details of even more cinemas and locations running these theatrical screenings at STUDIOCANAL's own Studio Ghibli Forever hub site.
