Having being nominated in the Best Animated Feature category for the 2016 Academy Awards, you'd imagine that the time is ripe for Studio Ghibli's When Marnie Was There to hit UK cinemas alongside the Oscar ceremony at the end of this month to aid in its promotion.
Well, think again, because Hiromasa Yonebayashi's feature film is finally get a limited theatrical run in the UK from STUDIOCANAL... but not until the summer. More specifically, Anime News Network have noted that the film is now listed for a Friday 10th June cinema release on our shores for a movie that has thus far only enjoyed outings at film festivals in London and Glasgow.
Are you looking forward to seeing the film hit cinemas? Let us know!
